Alrealon Music

Some of you may or may not know, I co-run (with Philippe Gerber aka DJ Phys), the music label, Alrealon Music. I wanted to update everyone on what we're doing and on our new releases.

Our newest release is a joint release with the Iowa based music label DSMS'ARU meets FluiD - Fearless Empire Killers'. DSMS is releasing it as a 3" CDR (with full-color artwork) and Alrealon Music is releasing it digitally. 'ARU meets FluiD...'  is a collaboration between Aural Resuscitation Unit and FluiD.

Other releases now available, are two techno releases: the first from LaptopAcidXperience - 'Deep Water b/w cREEPYsHEEP',  available digitally here. The second from mNIPK - Paul Auster's Tears, available digitally here.

Each month we also feature a podcast from an Alrealon Music artist or an artist affiliated with Alrealon Music. This months podcast comes from DJ Restless, who also released an EP on Alrealon Music, earlier this year.

We have just started the Alrealon Music Forum. If you join our forum, you'll recieve a download link for the 'Machina - Re/tooled' single. The single is comprised of two remixes of the DJ Restless track 'Machina' by FluiD and DJ Phys.

2010 Back to Kansas City Tour

09.15.10 :: Monks Kaffe in Dubuque, IA. Joining Sinjo Thraw Mash and I were ARU  and Bob Bucko Jr. The night was also the release party for 'ARU meets FluiD - Fearless Empire Killers'. ARU got things going with (in my opinion) one of his best sets. I've had the pleasure of seeing ARU a few times and this set surpassed any and all that I had previously witnessed. STM were next and for me it was like seeing them for the first time. Sublte additions to their sonic arsenal yielded, a richer more interesting sound. Bob Bucko Jr., followed, one man, one guitar, one saxophone and one looping pedal. All I can say is WOW! Bob simply made the most of what he had and we're all the better for having been in attendance.

09.16.10 :: Day Old Basement, Macomb, IL.  In short, the BEST show of the four-days. We returned to Day Old having played there previously on our 2010 Spring Tour. We all had a smile on all our faces as we greeted friends we had made from the last time we were there. As for the show, all I can say is Macomb loves it's weirdos and it's Dubstep and we gave them both. We spent the night in Macomb with a friend of Andy's (STM). "What happens in Macomb, stays in Macomb", suffice it to say, we enjoyed our time in Macomb and look forward to coming back.

09.17.10 :: The Brick, Kansas City, MO.   Arriving in KC on a gorgeous day. The god RA was smiling down upon us. We met up with Jason of Volte Dio Volte at his house. A little rest and relaxation before the show. For our two shows in KC, we were joined by our very good and longtime friends, X+X. Upon our arrival at The Brick, the beer started flowing and soon X+X were onstage, playing one of their better sets. It was very energetic and ended with Heat taking his Electric Rake out for a good beating. VDV delivered a set of dark, hypnotic, improv, recalling at times Swans. Yes, it was that good! After a stellar night at The Brick, we retreated to Jason's house, were old friends got reacquainted and some new friends were made.

09.18.10 :: The Newsroom, Kansas City, MO.    After getting everyone up and going, we headed over to Ken's (VDV) house. Where we were treated to a BBQ and a massive thunderstorm. Kansas City brought the hail. (LOL) Though nothing was going to keep us from having a good time. Nothing and I mean nothing beats, good food paired with even better friends! VDV treated us all with much warmth, generosity, repsect and love; I hope we did the same. Oh yeah, we also played as well. (LOL) The Newsroom show was a blast! Perfectly capping a weekend, I'm sure none of us will forget anytime soon.

Dubuque Strange Music Society release party!

Come party with the Dubuque Strange Music Society as it celebrates a trilogy of new releases!

Dubuque Strange Music Society has been operating WAY under the radar, releasing over twenty albums of original experimental sounds from the midwest and around the world. On September 15th DSMS celebrates a trilogy new of releases by Bob Bucko Jr., as well as a collaboration between FluiD from Chicago and ARU from Dubuque. The DSMS catalog of releases will be on display this night, which are otherwise only available by mail order. The economy is tight for everyone, so we are giving copies of the ARU meets FluiD release to everyone who pays cover. Discounts on the other DSMS releases will also be in effect for this event.

FluiD wowed the audience that caught him playing Monk's recently with his other project, Black Saturn vs. subduxtion which is a futuristic strain of hip-hop. Fluent in several genres, FluiD plans to drop sets of Dubstep at this show, expect heavy wobbly basslines and head nodding beats manipulated and effected live with FluiD's intriguing live/laptop/electronics set-up.

Bob Bucko Jr. probably needs no introduction to most of the 365 readers as he is a player in several Dubuque bands, Old Panther, Alma Sub Rosa, and Glimmer Blinkken most currently. His solo performances are always unique with Bob jumping between free jazz, noise rock, interpretations of classic tunes, and the occasional spontaneous improvisation. DSMS has just finished a trilogy of BBJR releases and we will have copies of the cassette 'Self Esteem Hand Jive' available.

Sinjo Thraw Mash hail from the Quad Cities, East Moline, IL. to be exact. This duo plays guitar, live electronics, and junk percussion in an improvised droning way that can be quite hypnotic. If the sounds don't do the trick, Jason also uses a table full of light toys which trigger his electronic noise boxes. Cloaked in neon and glow in the dark materials and letting loose with the lightshow, STM always get into "the zone". They have several albums released on Nail In The Coffin Records.

ARU splits the difference between dub music and noise to create a sound heavy on rhythmic elements. Lately focused on studio compostions, the sets at Monk's will be DJed sets of experimental dub music, including tracks from the FluiD collaboration. Eerie outer space bass vibes to freak out to.

There will be ALL AGES sets from everyone 7-9pm and 21+ sets 9-11pm. Come out for a rare night of Dub, Noise and Experimental musics in Dubuque.
